The Birmingham Business Journal will host its inaugural Business Growth Expo on Nov. 10 at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.

The event will feature speakers and exhibitors aimed at helping local, businesses grow and reach their full potential.

Joel Welker, president and publisher of the Business Journal, said the expo will provide useful information, exposure and networking opportunities for the local business community.

“It goes along with our mission of helping business owners and entrepreneurs grow their companies,” Welker said.

The BBJ has also launched a Web site, http://www.bbjgrowthexpo.com, which will feature information on speakers, presenters and exhibitioners, as well as registration details and event updates.

Confirmed speakers for the expo include:

  • Greg Dollarhyde, executive chairman of Zoe’s Kitchen LLC and Pacific Island Restaurants Inc. The 38-year veteran of the restaurant industry will tell entrepreneurs and small business owners “How to Grow from Small...Without Hitting the Wall.”
  • AvinashVashistha, co-author of “The Offshore Nation.” Vashistha, who is also chairman and CEO of Tholons and founder of neoIT, will discuss offshore and outsourcing strategies and how they can help businesses complete in an increasingly global world.
  • David Karabinos, managing partner and CEO of Harvest Business Advisors LLC and co-founder of EquaTerra, the leading global business process outsourcing advisory firm. Karabinos will discuss how to effectively manage cash flow.
  • A blue-ribbon panel of Birmingham CEOs who will discuss the current state of Birmingham’s economy and the region’s future prospects. Confirmed panelists are: Bill Taylor, president of the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama and former president of Mercedes-Benz Alabama; John D. Johns, CEO of Protective Life Insurance Co. and Donta Wilson, president of BB&T of Alabama.More panelistsspeakers will be announced at a later date.
